Ecological Pyramids
An ecological pyramid is a graphical representation of the relationship between different organisms in an ecosystem. Each of the bars that make up the pyramid represents a different trophic level, and represents the flow of energy. All Ecological Pyramids begin with producers on the bottom and proceed through the various trophic levels, the highest of which is on top. There are three types of ecological pyramids:

1- Pyramid of numbers
This shows the number of organisms in each trophic level without any consideration for their size. This type of pyramid can be convenient, as counting is often a simple task and can be done over the years to observe the changes in a particular ecosystem. However, some types of organisms are difficult to count, especially when it comes to some juvenile forms. Unit: number of organisms.
There are three types of pyramid of number:
• 1- Upright number pyramid
• 2- Partly upright number pyramid or (spindle- shaped number pyramid).
• 3- Inverted number pyramid.
